This research aimed to identify the factors that explain the violence of children and adolescents in the school environment. This study is an integrative literature review, in which, in its methodological path, the Virtual Health Library platform was used with the descriptors < violence, school and prevalence > for prospecting studies that resulted in 12 articles. The results found identified physical, psychological and sexual violence. The main factors of the representation of violence in the school environment were those of school causality, interpersonal (family and community), social and individual. The school must be an environment that promotes health, well-being and safety, thus identifying and reducing the incidence of violence in school life favors healthy learning for students. For this to occur more effectively, education professionals need ongoing training in identifying violence in the school environment.
